Conditions of Consignment

Once we have appraised your artworks in their original form, we will send you an auction agreement setting out our auction terms & conditions.

We will be happy to explain the proposed estimated and limit prices to you and are always available to answer any questions or clarifications you may have.

Commission

We present your art to our 47,000 customers worldwide, optimise the sales opportunities for you and organise the auction. If your work is sold, Grisebach will receive an expressly agreed commission.

Catalogue illustration costs

In order to show your art at its best, we will have it reproduced true to the original for presentation in the catalogue and on the web. Your contribution to the costs will be clearly stated in the auction contract.

Transport and insurance

Benefit from our experience in the professional transport and appropriate storage of your valuable objects. Your artwork is insured from the time it is collected from you until it is handed over to the buyer, but also at our premises.

Resale right levy

Section 26 of the Urheberrechtsgesetz (UrhG, German Copyright Act) stipulates that any seller selling original works of art or photographs at an online auction prior to seventy (70) years having lapsed since the death of their creator (Section 64 of the German Copyright Act) is under obligation to pay resale royalties, the amount of which is defined in Section 26 paragraph 2 of the German Copyright Act and is capped at EUR 12,500.00. Said resale royalties will be charged to the buyer in accordance with Section 4 No.2 of the Conditions of Sale and will be remitted by Grisebach.
