Conditions of Consignment

After your works have been appraised in the original, we will send you the contract with the auction conditions.

.

We will be happy to explain the proposed estimated and limit prices to you and are always available to answer any questions or clarifications you may have.

Commission

We present your art to our 47,000 customers worldwide, optimise the sales opportunities for you and organise the auction. If your work is sold, Grisebach will receive an expressly agreed commission.

Catalogue illustration costs

In order to show your art at its best, we will have it reproduced true to the original for presentation in the catalogue and on the web. Your contribution to the costs will be clearly stated in the auction contract.

Transport and insurance

Benefit from our experience in the professional transport and appropriate storage of your valuable objects. Your artwork is insured from the time it is collected from you until it is handed over to the buyer, but also at our premises.

Resale right levy

This statutory levy (§ 26 UrhG) in favour of the authors is to be paid by the seller of a work of art to the author of the work of art. Grisebach exempts you from paying this levy and pays it to the authors or their representatives. In return, Grisebach charges a flat fee of 1.5% of the hammer price, up to a maximum of EUR 12,500. This is also expressly regulated in the auction contract to be concluded between us.
