Oil on canvas. Relined. 36 × 60 cm (14 ⅛ × 23 ⅝ in.). Signed and dated lower left: Feininger 23. On the stretcher titled and signed in pen and brush in black: Wolken am Meere, 1. Version. There too remains of a label of the Curt Valentin Gallery, New York, and a stamp of Moderne Galerie Stangl, Munich. Catalogue raisonné: Moeller 263 / Hess 233.
