About the auction

Just in time for the turn of the year, this year's Third Floor Online Only December auction offers you an extensive selection of 20th and 21st century artworks with over 200 lots.

Classical Modernism is prominently represented with prints by Max Liebermann, Lyonel Feininger, Georges Braque, Joan Miró and many others. Lesser Ury´s etchings transport us to the wintry Berlin of the 1920s. The works of Kurt Scheele, Johannes Geccelli and Zao Wou-Ki also exude a wintery atmosphere.

The atmospheric paintings and watercolours by Rudolf Jahns, Gerda Lepke and Bernard Schultze help to escape the grey of the cold season. The prints by Jörg Immendorff, Rupprecht Geiger and Katharina Grosse and the paintings by Gustavo and Thierry Noir catch the eye with their intense colours and strong contrasts.

Watercolours by Walter Stöhrer and Max Uhlig captivate with their dynamic strokes. The human body finds expression in the pastels and drawings by Lotte Laserstein, Karl Hofer, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and George Grosz - the latter surprises with an unusually delicate charcoal drawing.

The medium of sculpture features animal bronzes by Renée Sintenis and August Gaul or ceramics by Pablo Picasso and Nicolas Party.
