The "Czech Photography" group, which was offered in a special section of the catalogue, met with particularly high interest. With a lower estimate totalling EUR 24,800 and a sale price of EUR 82,875*, the 38 photographs from an Austrian private collection achieved an increase in value of over 300%.
The highest result in the Modern Photography section was achieved by the rare vintage print "Rhythm and Structure" by Otto Steinert, which was purchased by an American collector for EUR 27,500* (estimate EUR 20,000/30,000). Diane Arbus' "Two Ladies at the Automat, N.Y.C." went for EUR 15,000* to an American collector (estimate EUR 10,000/15,000), while Heinz Hajek-Halke's exposure montage went for EUR 11,250* to an Italian private collection (estimate EUR 4,000/6,000).
In Contemporary Photography, the highest hammer prices went to "Domestic Nude III" by Helmut Newton, which was sold to a German private collector for EUR 30,000* (estimate EUR 20,000/30,000), followed by the portfolio "Selbstbemalung II" by Günter Brus, which went to an Austrian collection for EUR 23.750* to an Austrian collection (estimate EUR 12,000/15,000) and Hiroshi Sugimoto's photograph "Sea of Japan, Oki", which was purchased by a Swiss collector for EUR 20,000* (estimate EUR 15,000/20,000).
