This autumn auction for contemporary art is led by Gerhard Richter's colour-intensive painting "Studie für ein abstraktes Bild" from 1978 (EUR 250,000-350,000), followed by Tom Wesselmann's relief-like "Stillife with made in Japan Pitcher" from 1993 (EUR 180,000-240,000).
Beuys' rare, impressive bronze "Berglampe" from 1953 (EUR 80,000-100,000) and Anselm Kiefer's assemblage "Gilgamesch" from 1981/85 (EUR 70,000-90,000) are both auratic. Arnulf Rainer's "Fingermalerei" from 1974 is estimated at EUR 20,000-30,000, as is Johannes Grützke's larger-than-life nude painting "Der Segen" from 1985, while one of Sigmar Polke's best-known graphic motifs - "Freundinnen II" from 1967 - has been entrusted to us in particularly beautiful hand-coloured condition (EUR 60,000-80,000).
From a London private collection comes a contemporary selection of Berlin artists from the 2000s, including an iconic "Soziale Fassade" by Isa Genzken from 2002 (EUR 40,000-60,000), a large-format painting "Clear Day" by Franz Ackermann from 2003 (EUR 30,000-40,000), the "Konferenz der Echos" by Martin Eder (EUR 20,000-30.000) and the rare four-part room installation "Dr Monopoly Mann (Vampire with dog's willy)" by Jonathan Meese (EUR 15,000-20,000).
